I love watching planes. They have started to grab my attention every time I see them. I think my love started a couple of years ago on an evening walk at sunset, the sky was cloudless and all that filled the sky were the spectacular colors of the setting sun and one lone jet stream coming from a plane that seemed to move in slow motion across the giant expanse of the sky.  In that moment, it clicked within my mind what a crazy concept flying on a jet plane is…A fully loaded, fully fueled Boeing 747 can weigh over 900,000 lbs. This 450 ton metal machine full of people and explosive jet fuel can hurtle through the air at 550 mph, 35,105 feet above the ground. A non-stop flight from NYC to LA, a 42 hour drive, takes only 6 hours. Around the world, there are 100,000 commercial flights per day! Air travel is a normal part of the world we live in.
